The project “SILENT” project aims to address the need for language acquisition and development (spoken or sign language) of deaf children, as well as to support family communication.

Focusing on educating and empowering the family (parents, siblings and grandparents of deaf or hard of hearing children) through a family learning approach, it aims to create an inclusive, stimulating and anxiety-free environment for positive early childhood development.

The project aims to strengthen the language and communication skills and improve the resilience of hearing parents of deaf children.

The results of this project include:

• Toolkit de Aprendizagem Familiar: Livro “Não tão Silencioso” and Vídeos.
• Perguntas e respostas para pais PT e EN
• Pedagogical Programme for parents and an E-Learning Course; PT and EN
• Training Programme for Adult Educators to propagate the use of the materials produced in the project.
