The project “Reserve A Lane For The Disabled” project aims to swimming to physically disabled pupils aged 16-25.
Each partner country had the possibility to choose 6 people (3 men, 3 women) with physical disabilities and optionally with a classification between S10-S5. In this way, the self-confidence in the ateltes increased and the relationships with society also became stronger.
Another aim of this project is to help young people with disabilities to acquire new skills as well as to decrease their disinterest in the sport. The project also promoted the decrease of prejudice against people with disabilities increased cultural communication and participants benefited from the relationship and communication between other people. Furthermore, it gave the opportunity to form a new, more positive vision for people with disabilities, allowing them to acquire new skills and make them feel that they are part of society.
The disabled swimmers themselves say that they have become more popular among their friends, are much happier and have more confidence in themselves now thanks to swimming.
