The objective of Inside-Out project is to build stress management, self-care, and resilience of parents so that they can develop the skills and competences required to fully invest in quality parent-child communication, for the betterment of their child’s development. The project further aims to support parents to assess and refine their communication style so that they can practice positive parenting, positive discipline and can respond to their children rather than react to their behaviour.
To address these objectives, the Inside-Out project will develop a wide range of educational resources to support parents, families and front-line educators who support them to address the issues, and which will also provide parents with the guidance they need to adopt their parenting styles and behaviours to nurture positive relationships with their children.
The main actions for this project are:
Hybrid Curriculum for Parents-It will address both personal training needs of parents (inside) and the parenting training needs of parents( out). This curriculum is based on the understanding that in order to develop their parenting skills, parents need to develop their personal skills. It will be developed as a series of 10 modules.
In-service training for Adult Educators- A bespoke in-service training programme to ensure that adult educators are fully trained to harness the potential of the Inside-Out educational resources;
Mooc- A complete set of resources developed will be applied in a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC).
